 « Alternatives to animal experimentation: Innovation and reliability »

On 15 December, as part of its series of conferences on the theme ‘What is life? Biotechnology at the heart of healthcare’, the Transcience association, in conjunction with the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, organised a round table on non-animal research methods: “Alternatives to animal experimentation: innovation and reliability”.

Participants in the round table presented the most innovative approaches in this field (in vitro and in silico), their applications and prospects, the advantages and also the obstacles to faster progress in non-animal research methods.

 

Moderator: Aude Favre, journalist and director of the documentary “Cobayes, bye bye?”

Speakers:

– Hugues Berry, Director of Research in Bioinformatics, INRIA ;

– Roland Cash, doctor in pharmacology, consultant in public health and health economics, vice-president of the Transcience association;

– Fanny Jaulin, Doctor of Immunology, Director of Research at Inserm and head of the Metastatic Dissemination of Digestive Cancers team at the Institut Gustave Roussy;

– Emmanuel Roy, PhD in materials science, Managing Director of Eden Tech, a company specialising in microfluidics.
